Welcome to our new website

Here's news worth whirling about. After a lot of huffing and heft, I am proud to be launching the all new Music Hunter Blue Mountains website.

Music Hunter has been going strong for donkey's years with regular events in the Blue Mountains, sustaining the arts that sustain us. I've been chugging away with lots of great support from volunteers and musicians and audiences, but it felt like time to take a breath and have a good look at Music Hunter - to refresh our mission and our messaging and to tell our unique story.

Music Hunter loves music of all stripes and from all cultures. We venture way out beyond the safe boundaries of what's Western and radio-friendly. We know that the most interesting stuff happens on the frontier. And that's why it's out mission to connect incredible musicians to the bold and curious audiences that appreciate them. Brilliant Musos, adventurous audiences. That's our thing.

Here's a quick tour of our new site.

The home page is where you'll find our fundamentals - what we stand for, what we do, and what we care about. You'll also find current gigs listed there, and direct links to buy tickets. If you want to know more about upcoming acts you can go to the Upcoming Gigs page for some more juice.

The About page tells you a bit more about the history and aims of Music Hunter and a bit about me, Meg Benson. You'll get a sense of what I'm aiming to achieve here and why it all matters to me. It's still coming, and I'll let you know when it's up and running.

If you head to the Past Gigs page you'll see some of the posters advertsing gigs gone by. They are in a bit of a random sort of order, so trawl about. You might remember some of these gigs fondly if you've been a Music Hunter for a while.

Like the Sufi masters, Music Hunter believes that music is the path to a kind of brilliant ecstasy or at least a really delicious feeling. Music gives us pleasure, and connects us to the best parts of ourselves and each other. Music builds resilience and community. It's a natural high and it's good for you, and that's a beautiful thing.

We hope you feel the same way. If you do, we warmly invite you to become a Music Hunter. Join us. It's a big adventure and we want to share it with you.
